Sidewalk Wanderings is a collection of environmental, architectural and city scapes images sometimes accompanied with thoughts and wonderings.  Unlike my Street Photography these images do not include people but instead a human presence.   Hope you enjoy wandering along with me.
'Late Night Music
on The Ave'
Sometimes moments come together to bring back memories that can't be ignored...
"TAXI"
'It was raining hard in Frisco
I needed one more fare to make my night
A lady up ahead waved to flag me down.
She got in at the light.
                       . . .
Something about her looked familiar....'
                                                                                          - the late Harry Chapin
'Where the
Darkness Leads'

for the lucky...
'Reflected Light'
'Late Night Mystery Light'

As I looked up at the lone lit window on this 1950's art deco building my thoughts ran toward the deep shadows of the past.  I could imagine the uneasy spirit a Sam Spade or Philip Marlowe as Raymond Chandler pens another Los Angeles noir crime fiction.

His words echoing into the present...
“The streets were dark with something more than night.”
                                          - Raymond Chandler
'Idiot Proofing'
'Back Alley
Stories'

Alleys have so many stories and awaiting ghosts.

Their shadows hold the light, there light hides the shadows.
'Crossing Man'
'Lonely View'
I sensed a nearing storm,  it wasn't far away now.
Looking back, in one respect it was already here!

With an eye on the sky I noticed a singular table and chair perched atop an upper level porch of a new multi-story building.

Odd
...it struck me as a sad comment of success and community growth...
'With the birds I share this lonely view.'
'Waiting and Watching'

for a friend...
'Bridging the Storm'

Sometimes the smallest thing can lift the heaviest weights.
'Character with a Purpose'

The garage of a local non-profit.
'Environmental Irony'

There is so much beauty in life and encouragement to protect our world.

Sad when the 'Recycling' message is missed.
Isn't It.

'Waiting Quietly'

'Late Night
Oasis'
'Spirits of the Night'
