'Study in Contrast' is a one day 'high contrast photography' project capturing life in a small midwest town. Color and shade are omitted placing the focus on the shape, structure, contrast and the texture of daily life.
The intention of this project is to focus on the common things of the day, what we walk by or what passes us by. To find those things we so often never notice. The humor of the signs around us, the details hidden by color, distraction and glare. To take a look beyond the showy and discover a chance to see our world a little differently.
In short, reduce the day to elements to black OR white. 'NOT' the contrast of 'Against or Difference' or a 'Them vs. Us' as the term is too often used but instead show the basic beauty, humor and life balance in 'simplicity' we all seek.
